About Me

Welcome! I’m Wanda Neal, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Qualified Supervisor. I specialize in helping individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, work-related stress, and emotional regulation. My approach is solution-focused, and my clients often experience improved emotional communication, a deeper understanding of their triggers, and practical tools for reducing stress and managing symptoms.

When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m probably binge-watching a true crime documentary, exploring a new restaurant, or attending a fun local event. I love staying active and often participate in races like RunDisney, the Skyway 10k, and IronGirl. Traveling is also a big passion of mine—my favorite adventure so far was Iceland, a place unlike anything I’ve ever seen. You’ll often find me outdoors, whether hiking a scenic trail or relaxing at the beach. Although I’ve lived in many different places, Tampa Bay is where I’m happiest to call home.

Who I Work With &
How I Can Help

I work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, stuck in negative thought patterns, or struggling with emotional regulation, I’m here to help. Many of my clients find themselves overthinking, doubting their capabilities, or avoiding the very things they need to address. These issues can feel exhausting and frustrating, but meaningful change is possible. Together, we’ll identify your specific goals and work to create a personalized path toward growth and healing. My approach empowers you to manage your concerns in a way that feels authentic and sustainable, helping you move forward with confidence.

More About Me

My Favorite Part of Being a Therapist

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a therapist is witnessing my clients connect the dots between what we work on in session and their experiences outside of therapy. It’s incredibly fulfilling when clients share their successes—whether it's managing a difficult situation better, feeling less triggered, or using the tools we’ve developed together to navigate life more effectively. These moments of growth remind me why I love this work.

My Journey as a Therapist

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University (2013) and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University (2017). Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings, including a residential addiction center, with military personnel, and as a unit therapist at a Baker Act receiving hospital. I’m also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a specialized technique for treating trauma and PTSD.

What to Expect

In our sessions, you can expect a structured and solution-focused approach. We’ll set goals together and I’ll provide you with practical tools to manage your stress, anxiety, and trauma. My goal is to help you better understand your symptoms, reduce triggers, and foster lasting emotional resilience. If you’d like to learn more, check out my FAQs page.
