Therapy
Talk therapy, also known as psychotherapy, is a therapeutic approach where individuals discuss their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a trained therapist. It is used to address a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, and trauma.
Talk therapy helps by providing a safe space to explore emotions, gain insight into personal challenges, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes. Through conversation, it can foster emotional healing, improve mental well-being, and enhance problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a psychotherapy approach designed to help people process and heal from traumatic experiences and distressing memories. It involves guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation (like tapping or auditory tones) while recalling traumatic memories.
EMDR helps by desensitizing emotional responses to painful memories, allowing the brain to reprocess them in a less distressing way. This can reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related issues, promoting emotional healing and improving overall well-being.
“Changing the memories that form the way we see ourselves also changes the way we view others. Therefore, our relationships, job performance, what we are willing to do or are able to resist, all move in a positive direction.”
